Hi Everyone - I am fundraising for a mobility van. I had a happy, active childhood, riding my bike and skateboarding. I was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at age 19. It’s a progressive disease with no cure. It affected certain muscles in my legs and shoulders and it affected my heart. At 25, I had a heart transplant. I’m 34 and unfortunately, am now wheelchair bound. Although I can still drive, I am not able to get my wheelchair in and out of the car without help.
I would really like to get a wheelchair accessible van so I can take my dog to the outdoors, go to medical appointments, or meet friends for lunch or a walk, without needing help. If it could a camper I could explore the outdoors more or even go camping which has been a dream of mine for years as well.
Please help me maintain my independence and dreams of travel. I appreciate any amount you can give and I will create a instagram account to show my adventures and travels. Thanks in advance, Lars and Chewy
