Those that know me know that I don’t like to ask for help, but times are hard, and I need help.

On July 4, 2025, I went to the hospital for a wound on my leg. I got to the hospital, and they told me that the infection in my leg had gotten really bad, and the antibiotics they prescribed to me weren’t working. On July 8th, I was discharged and sent to a “nursing skill facility” for wound care. I was there for a month because they kept grasping at straws and telling me they couldn’t send me home because of A, B, C. Finally, on August 19th, I was discharged from that horrible place.

That led to me having medical bills, and I was disenrolled from AHCCCS for an adult program. I was enrolled in Medicaid, and it’s not covering my medical bills. My mom is my sole caregiver, and she is not getting paid for taking care of me. They stopped sending caregivers until I get approved again, but it’s taking too long, and I can’t be left alone. I enrolled to get Social Security, and I received a letter telling me that I won’t get any benefits until March 2027.

My mom lost her job, and she is not able to pay the rent and utilities. To make matters worse, the bathroom door in my apartment is too small for my wheelchair to fit. I haven’t been able to take a decent shower or use the toilet for a month, and they expect us to pay for it. To be able to pay for anything, we have to sell our jewelry, and I’m going to have to donate blood for money.
