Trip to Support Child On Spectrum

Donation protected

Sandra is a committed single mother of three children. For the past 16 years, she has worked tirelessly to provide them with the love and support they need to thrive and become independent.

Sandra works hard as an office administrator at a Toronto school. She shows great commitment to her job.
And she goes above and beyond to take care of her children. Over the years, she has made countless sacrifices to help her children, Kristine, Ryan and Jonathon be their best and achieve success.

With two sons, Ryan and Jonathon, on the Autism Spectrum, the journey so far has been as challenging as it has been rewarding; she never let their diagnosis hold her family back. She did everything she could - attending countless meetings at school to get them the help they needed, working several jobs to makes ends meet and doing everything in her power to ensure they felt and were treated like any other child. And it worked.

Sandra's youngest child, Jonathon has proven that it is possible to overcome seemingly impossible challenges and realize your dreams.

When Jonathon was three years old he got his first taste of bowling. And he loved it! He would bowl at home with plastic pins, bottles and anything he could knock down! Bowling helped him with self-control, learning how to play with other children and how to follow rules. He would spend the next 16 years learning and striving to become the best bowler he could be. His efforts have paid off. This year, his Youth Bowling League has been invited to compete at the Youth Bowling Canada (YBC) Nationals in Calgary!

This is where we need your help. As a youth on the Spectrum, Jonathon must have a parent accompany him to the YBC Nationals. Naturally, Sandra is thrilled at the opportunity to see her son shine. However, as a single mother, the cost of going to Calgary to see her Jonathon compete, is too much for her to handle on her own.

Sandra has the support of her community and has graciously received some help from friends and colleagues to help with the cost of her flight. Now she needs your support to help with the cost of hotel accommodations, transportation in Calgary and incidentals.

This year's YBC Nationals take place from May 7 -9, 2016 so your help is needed as soon as possible.

Sandra is a special human being who goes out of her way to help and take care of her colleagues, friends and family. If she can help, she always does. No is not a word she says. Finally, this is an important moment in her family's history and they would both be eternally grateful for any support you can offer to help with the cost of staying in Calgary.

Thank you very much for reading Sandra's story and for considering a donation to her trip to see Jonathan compete!
