"My mother was the reason I was able to travel abroad for my master's degree. I come from a village where no one had ever been to a university before.

But when my parents, especially my mother, saw the determination in my eyes, she did everything she could to help me achieve my dreams.

She taught me to love, to be humble, and to always be kind to others. She toiled relentlessly for me and my siblings. I saw the tears behind her smile, and I promised myself that I would change our situation.

But sadly, she passed away before I could even make it in life. Right now, I'm studying abroad, and I'm not even allowed to work off-campus to support myself (pay rent, medical bills, groceries) let alone contribute to her funeral expenses, or help my younger sibling and the children she was caring for."

We are fundraising to cover the funeral expenses for my mother, Ama Nyame, and to support my younger sibling and the children she was caring for.
