Persistent Borreliosis is the clinical name for advanced Lyme Disease. It is a devastating condition that undermines the immune system and attacks organs. It is difficult to detect and frequently misdiagnosed. Conventional treatments are rarely effective and there is no quick remedy. Every patient is unique requiring unique treatment. Perhaps worst of all is that effective treatments utilizing manual therapies, nutritional supplementation, and much coaching are not recognized by any health insurer and require a commitment of 3-5 years of out of pocket expense which most victims simply cannot afford. Once I saw the disease first hand and what proper treatment can accomplish, it became my personal calling to bring this to as many victims as I possibly could. We simply find it inhumane to turn anyone away regardless of what they can or can't afford.
If you know someone who has been diagnosed with Lyme Disease, if you have been diagnosed yourself, you understand exactly what we mean. We are raising money in order to underwrite the expense of fighting the devastation caused by the bite of a tiny tick. We provide assessment services, manual neuromuscular therapy, nutritional guidance and supplements, and constant coaching to put our clients on the road to recovery.
We need funding immediately just to provide products and services to a handful of victims. The annual cost for each patient is $25,000 plus the cost of changing their diet and daily habits. Because we consult nationally, it is sometimes necessary to bring a victim to Florida for several weeks for more intense sessions.
We cannot begin to speculate on what this means to a victim of Advanced Lyme Disease, many of whom have simply resigned themselves to a life of pain, fatigue, foggy thinking, or worse. How do you describe what it means to a person to be able to go for a short walk outside after being trapped in their home, or what it's like to have a normal bowel movement that you haven't had for years, or to get a full night's sleep. You cannot, nor can you describe the gratitude that they feel for the guidance they have received. It is off the charts.
BUT it takes money for them to receive the care that they need. Whatever you can donate, no matter how little, no matter how much will all go to making an unmeasureable difference in a life that is worth living free of this horrible disease. Please give something.
