This is Chris. At 19 years old, Chris is a bright, fun loving, lighthearted young man who had dreams of being a computer animator as well as a charted accountant. He was in his first year of pursing his bachelors in management studies until recently when he had been hospitalized due to his compromised immunity. Since the beginning of this year, his health has declined and he has suffered from multiple infections. Now at 19 years of age, Chris has suffered multiple strokes due tuberculosis lesions of the brain and viral meningitis.
Jeeji and her husband Roshen have taken Chris into their home in Mumbai since his parents passed away 4 years ago. With the help of great friends, Chris is one of several young adults they have committed to mentor and support spiritually, physically and financially. By God’s grace, Chris’ needs have been met for the last few years until his health has significantly declined these last few months. Chris is now in the ICU, and in a country where medical care is based only on the patient’s ability to pay, Chris’ medical expenses have been growing daily. Just in the last 2 weeks, his ICU based care has cost over $10,000 US Dollars. His current condition has deteriorated so much that complete recovery is no longer expected from a medical standpoint. But while his heart is beating, medical ethics does not allow for the turning off of the ventilator. As a result, the medical cost is still accruing. Chris has one older brother who is also currently being taken care of by the same home, and has only just graduated from trade school and is not in a position to repay the medical debt that is incurring. If you feel led, we would also appreciate any financial support that you could give to help provide for his urgent medical needs. Once all the medical expenses are met, any leftover money will go towards meeting the needs of the rest of the boys.
