Labdien draugi! Hello friends!
It is with great excitement and honor to announce that I have been selected to be a part of the Latvian Marathon team heading to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro next month.

As incredible as this journey has been, I could not have accomplished this without my husband Matthew and my parents, Rita and Andris Zvers. They have traveled with me across the USA and Latvija for races, have biked alongside me countless miles during the early morning hours, and have sacrificed so much time and energy to help me succeed. I cannot imagine my first Olympic experience without them there. Not only has it been my dream to run under the Latvian Flag, but my family also shares in this dream.
Although some of my trip and training expenses to Rio de Janeiro will be covered by the Olympic Union, it would mean so much to me to have my parents and Matt there to support me for the marathon on August 14. Funds raised will be used for our travel expenses, and vaccinations as well as sports medical care and nutrition I will need as I continue hard training on the Road to Rio. Any extra funds raised will be donated to Liezere Latvija School and Latvian Center Garezers.
