Your help is needed in completing post-production for our short film "Helmet" It's a true-to-life story about my nights as a twenty-two-year-old hustler driving a Tow Truck on the graveyard shift all over Southern California from 1976 to 1984. I'm fundraising to help complete this film we recently shot in the Los Angeles area that captured those times, helping people out of tight spots in Los Angeles, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Malibu, West LA, Hollywood and South Central. Many of the accounts were hair-raising and out of control and often became life or death situations with every call taken by myself and the other Tow Truck drivers who never knew what to expect when they arrived on the scene, most times with no backup. The show resembles Sons of Anarchy with Tow Trucks, as the characters range from Mayor Bradley to the Gangs in South Los Angeles. We have depicted what life was like back then with the dysfunctional employees of the Tow Yard and the hard-core environment on the streets after midnight. Combine that with the music and world events of the time with no cell phones or TMZ to expose people's privacy while experiencing a rough night. I feel incredibly fortunate to have assembled this outstanding, experienced, enthusiastic cast and crew that pushed themselves beyond my expectations and are excited about the show and the opportunities that will follow. All funds donated will be explicitly used to complete post-production and marketing of the project, focusing on bringing the show to fruition.
