What I know of Dawn Beyer and TheRealNashville.

"She lives and breathes music.."
That sounds so cliche, I know, but I've never seen it live so true. If you've seen Dawn perform her music then you know Dawn! You've stepped into her heart, her mind, her soul - you've seen all of her. If you've experienced her music, you've experienced the essence of an incredible human with a gift that is out of this world.

The title, "singer-songwriter," is most definitely not the term I would use for her. Her gift transcends the ability to write a catchy chorus or melody. She's a story-teller
that lives fully through every song.
Whether there is 1 person, or hundreds, sitting in from of her, she gives it her all all the time. She pulls you in, holds your heart, and reveals herself to you through her music.
She lets you see the authentic human that she is, without ever compromising her truth.

She stands in the center of the stage with her 16 year old guitar that has a Willy Nelson hole almost burned totally through. She wears jeans, a t-shirt, and a leather jacket. Most likely, she will have on a trucker hat and some black Converse.

She'll probably will be singing an original song, or maybe a Garth Brooks or George Jones cover that speaks true to her. Whether you've heard the songs before or not, it won't matter; she will sing them to you in a way that makes them feel familiar.
She has the ability to take you on a journey as she connects to your story through sharing her own.

I've experienced more than a few of her shows. I've ran her tip jar and I've taken song requests. I've had people tell me that she should consider wearing dress or take her hat off.. I've heard people tell her, "I need your autograph because, I know, one day you're going to be somebody."

Something I am sure of, those aren't the people she sings for.

She sings for the people who stop mid-conversation as she starts a song and remain silent until the end. She sings for the people who forget to order another drink because they no longer wish to feel numb. She sings for the people who look up at her - the ones who's eyes fill with saltwater as they connect to a song they've never heard before. She sings for the couples who stand up to dance and never sit back down, and for for the ones who come into the bar for a drink, and stay for her whole show, just to shake her hand and say, "thank you."

She doesn't stand there singing because she's waiting for some important person to walk in who will take her and turn her into someone fit for world tours and radio plays. There is no dream that she isn't living in the middle of a song.

She doesn't stand for money, or fame. She stands for music - to connect with anyone willing to hear her.
She stands as a voice for the world of people who have refused to compromise who they are to be heard.

Being an observer of the Nashville community, I've met people who I would consider to be some of the greatest writers and most talented musicians of all time. Artists, who refused labels that wanted to change them, that have played at the same bar for 10+ years.
I call them the "un-compromised."
The community of people you haven't heard yet because they have no desire to be changed.

And that is the birth of #TheRealNashville - a ever-expanding possibility. A label designed to reveal to the world the real artists of Nashville, Tn. The ones whose artistry has always come first.

I feel honored to know these people of Nashville, and to take part in the launching and sharing of this project.

Dawn Beyer, the founder, and the first artist on TheRealNashville label, has enrolled me, as well as many others, in this project through her effortless passion for music and her commitment to the underground artistry of Nashville.

She has an opportunity now to produce the very first album for TheRealNashville with some of the most amazing and talented musicians beside her - including Garth Brooks' fiddle player, Jimmy Mattingly.

As most people know, creating a well produced album does not come easy.
Dawn has until the first week of November to gather the funds for the whole production - for the studio space, the band members, the time, etc.

In speaking with Dawn about this project, she said to me, "I don't ever want anyone to feel scared to mention the songs THEY want to record. I just want to sing my songs and allow the space for others to do the same. That's what I wanna do, sing, and see whose hearts connect to them. If it's a million, that's so great. And if it's 30, it's 30 hearts. And what other avenue, or portal in life, would we ever have to reach 30 hearts with one song? That's the power of music.. And I just wanna share mine, and let others share theirs. Our music belongs to those who connect to it and we owe them authenticity.."

We are calling on the people who have been touched by Dawns music to help fulfill on this incredible possibility - I know there are many of you! Let's stand together to create a a vehicle for all the un-compromised artists to be heard by the world! Let's take back, and fight for, the return of real music!

Love, Z (an oberver and something beautiful)
