In June 2015 I had a life changing experience, I was in a car crash. Using herbal medicine, I have been able to bring myself back from a place of trauma, significant pain and anxiety, to a place of wholeness from which I can help and serve others. I want to support others in healing with herbal medicine. In order to do this, I need to become a Certified Clinical Herbalist. A Clinical Herbalist at the simplest level, is someone who connects people and plants to create a place of balance and whole health in the body and mind.
I recently applied and was accepted to Ohlone Center of Herbal Studies’ Herbal Foundations program in Berkeley, CA. Ohlone Herbal Center is a non-profit school and community clinic located in Berkeley, CA. They provide 1000+ hours of training over 3 years for students to become Certified Clinical Herbalists trained in traditional, science-based Western herbalism. Their students serve in their community clinic, which is funded by donations. Graduates of the clinic are ready to serve their community through herbal medicine by opening their own clinics, developing herbal medicines, and becoming herbal educators. With your help, I can train to become a Certified Clinical Herbalist with Ohlone Center of Herbal Studies.
Due to the high costs of living in the Bay Area, I share a studio apartment with my partner Andrew and our 3 cats. I work full time, but still l live paycheck to paycheck. This creates a financial paradox: I can afford to pay rent, but am unable to save money for tuition. I can cover the the cost of books and offsite educational excursions required for the program but I need your help to cover tuition costs for the first year of study.
