Alexandru's Recovery
Donation protected
Update:
We are now very close to the goal we initially had in mind and we believe that all current donations will be enough for Alex and his mother. The plane ticket was actually bought through a different donation that came from a person who happened to see the accident (the owner of "That Place" in Ogunquit), so that was another unexpected amazing thing that came towards their help!
They are both really grateful for everything that has been done for them so far!
It's a wrap :)
Past situation:
This is the story of Alex Constantin Stanciu...
Alex came to the United States less than one month ago as a participant in a program for international university students, to work, travel, and experience his second American summer. But on a rainy day, the 31st of July, he had an unfortunate accident while riding his bicycle to work.
Alex was immediately transported from Ogunquit, ME to Boston, MA where he underwent a very difficult and painstaking reconstructive surgery on the majority of his face. He spent the week in the ICU, but the surgery was a success, and he is now home on bed rest for the next several weeks.
His community, friends, and family are trying to help him with his recovery by relieving some of the financial stresses. We are trying to earn enough money to buy a plane ticket for his mom to come from Romania to the USA to assist in comforting her son and offer care. He is also unable to work currently, so any donations will help pay for his cost of living and food for the time he is laid up. We are asking you to contribute with whatever amount you can afford, and your help will be truly appreciated!
Students, employers, random people, please help Alex get better so that he can also discover the best side of America, its generosity!
