My name is Frank Rinella. Although I'm retired now, for much of my life, I have been a home remodeler, contractor, home builder, and fixer upper. My ability to look beyond what is and see what could be has proven to be my unique strength.
Right now, the people of Baton Rouge are experiencing severe heartache with the flood destruction of their homes, belongings, and treasured keepsakes.
Throughout my life, whenever I've seen news reports like those we've all seen about this tragic flooding, I have felt compelled to respond with action. It seems there is always something I could do...but didn't. The demands of life and family have always seemed the more "responsible" thing to do.
This time is different. This time, I'm going to do something. This time, I am going to help.
My GoFundMe campaign will directly help rebuild and restore some of those family's homes. Your contribution will help remove flooding debris and re-drywall. Raising $29,000 enables us (you and me) to supply all the materials necessary to remove the debris and re-drywall approximately 10 homes. The money will obviously be used to purchase drywalling supplies (drywall, joint compound, tape, screws, etc). It will also be used to transport these supplies to Baton Rouge (such supplies are often in short supply and very expensive to buy locally in disaster situations) and provide for my modest living expenses while I'm there. I am volunteering all my time. Plus, I already have all the tools needed to get the job done.
I am planning to leave for Baton Rouge no later than October 13 and work there for approximately 1 month; so this campaign is time-sensitive.
I've set up a Facebook page to keep you updated about my progress. This is where I plan to post photos of our work and the families we help.
