2020 had been a really hard year for all of us. Some of us have had a tougher time than others, and my wonderful friend Lisa Bruno being one of those people.
Back in a July, after the coronavirus shut down New York City, Lisa had to take the devastating but necessary step to close her school, Brooklyn Children’s House. A long held dream, Brooklyn Children’s House operated successfully for just over two years. Since it’s closure and the effects of Covid, she moved to Portland into an affordable housing situation and a plan to a attend Montessori training course and look for work.
She has had a hard time finding work and last Friday fell an badly broke her ankle which will require 2 surgeries and up to 4 months of recovery.
Lisa has been forced to make the tough decision to move back with family on the east coast but will be unable to make the trip back east until she has recovered from her injury. Furthermore, she is forced to move from her affordable housing situation due to handicap accessability issues and now must rent considerably more expensive air bnbs in the interim.
With her lack of employment and all this overwhelming unexpected extra cost, any donations would be greatly appreciated to help ease this huge and sudden financial burden.
