Jimmy was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) on January 27, 2022. DIPG is a brain tumor that is highly aggressive and difficult to treat. Jimmy bravely went through clinical trials at the Mayo Clinic but lost his battle on September 2, 2022.

The family is focusing their efforts to finding a cure for DIPG.
