Hi, Stephen Jung here. I am helping my mother (Suzanne Jung) and my sister ( Suzan Jung) to raise money to help rebuild their homes that were flooded on Sunday, August 14, 2016. They live one street from each other, in Baton Rouge, and both received about 18"-24" of water in their homes as a result of the 1000 year flood that devasted so much of South Louisiana. They did not live in a flood zone, so neither can use flood insurance to financially assist from the disaster.  

My mother is 83, has raised 7 children, retired from working as a secretary for the State Police, and widowed. She has been an active church volunteer for 60+ years, and is on a fixed income, so this financial help would go a long way on helping to rebuild her house. 

My sister is 57,  and a single woman who works for the State. She recently accomplished remarkable health and wellness goals, is impressively frugal, and will make any donations stretch to their fullest!

All donations will be used toward costs to remove all flood damage to both homes and rebuild healthy and safe homes for them.

Time is of the essence, as we are gutting the homes as we speak. The faster we remove wetness, the less chance of mold. Both women can not live in these homes during the gutting and rebuilding process. FEMA will give some financial assistance, but it it may be only 10-15% of the cost of their homes. Donations of any amount are extremely helpful- as soon as possible, and greatly appreciated,

Raising this money to help my mom and sister means the world to our whole family. Families take care of each other, and give all they can. At this point we ask if others can help us, - this flood was a 1000 year flood, a true natural disaster, please help our family get our mom and sister back into a dry home.
Update- we raised $5000 which greatly helps with the gutting process and storage facility and temporary housing costs. We are asking for the next $5000 goal to be earmarked towards the rebuild costs of both homes.
