Abigail's Kindergarten Fund

In early March of 2015, our sweet little cousin Abigail was forced into the hands of DCFS when her parents decided to give up all parental rights. My little sister, Torie, who was 23 and struggling through nursing school at the time, selflessly took Abigail into her custody and regardless of all obstacles, made it work. When Abigail's parents failed to make progress in regaining her custody, Abigail became a ward of the state at the end of 2015. Still struggling through nursing school, making a living as a nanny and managing to make rent amongst all other living expenses, Torie knew giving up on this little girl that she had fallen so in love with, was not an option. So she began the process of adoption. 

On June 2nd, Abigail became forever hers. My sister gave her a forever home, forever love and a forever mother.

Torie graduated from nursing school and will be taking her boards at the end of August, with hopes to begin her career as a nurse and make a better life for herself and Abigail. 

I am doing this without Torie's permission as she would rather struggle financially than ever ask for help, because while yes, she is one of the most selfless, giving persons I have ever known, she is also very stubborn.

It's time for Abigail to start Kindergarten, which she is so exicted about. She's having the time of her life picking out school supplies and she adores her new back pack. The school district Torie and Abigail live in only offers half day kndergarten to the public, with limited spots for a very expensive full day program. Abigail lucked into the very last spot for the full day program, and my goal is to get Abigail through her first year of school without it being a financial burden on my sister. Any help would mean the absolute world to me.
