Estelle's kosher burial obligations
Donation protected
Hi, we are Yosef David Hasson (many of you know me as Joe Hasson from Southern California or Oregon) and my niece Grace Spitzer Bjornstad. My sister Estelle Hasson passed away last night in Honolulu. For the past few months she fought a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer and we are helping her children raise money for a kosher burial in Hawaii which costs $10,000 to $11,000 or more. In addition, there are medical and other obligations they and her estate have no means to satisfy.
We are obligated under Torah law to try our best to have the burial before sunset on the first day, which falls there at 6:59pm today, Thursday August 18, 2016. If it can that would be great and mean so much! Any funding before or after that time would help us reach our goal. It would help us, several Jewish people, to properly fulfill G-d’s directive in the Torah to bury our dead as soon as possible out of respect for the body that He created, since we are all created in His image.
We are and will be so thankful for any contribution you might want to make, no matter how small. Even $5 or $10 will help. If you don’t want your donation to be identified you can mark it “Anonymous.” Thank you very much and may G-d bless all the good works of your hands!
