Chronicle/Hearst staff and extended community, 

Our friend and former colleague Frank Mina's sister Carmen (Bernie) Mina-Sangervasi lost her life in a traffic collision on August 12 of this year. 

Bernie was the mother of eight children and very close to Frank. Please hold Frank and his family in your thoughts at this time. 

All proceeds from this fund will be presented to Frank in hopes of providing some modicum of assistance and comfort amid this devastating situation. 

The $5,000 goal is arbitrary. Whatever is donated will be passed on to the Mina family regardless of whether we meet this goal. Let's vastly exceed it, shall we?
