Lauren's Legacy

Family and friends,

This world recently lost one of its best. Lauren Nicole Whitburn was tragically killed in a car accident on Dec. 21st 2021.

Lauren was far too young and had so many people and reasons to remain on this earth for a lot longer. Most importantly, her 2 beautiful children, Kallie and Judah. Lauren was everything for her kids. Especially over the past 2 years of Kal's FSGS (kidney disease) and more recently cancer diagnosis requiring chemo therapy.

Lauren was so close with her family. Talking to her sister (and best friend) Dana on a daily basis. Lauren was SO excited to be an auntie for the first time to Dana and Sheldon's baby due in June. She was already planning her visit to Vancouver to meet the sweet babe.

Lauren also had a very special relationship with her parents (Tom and Sharen); always her safety net and source of unconditional love.

The Arsenault/Whitburn/Wagenaar family, though separated by geographical distance, has one of the closest and strongest bonds a family could.

Lauren's sudden and untimely passing leaves a chasm in the hearts and lives of her family and loves ones. To say she will be missed is a gross understatement.

The impetus for this ‘Go Fund Me’ comes out of a feeling of helplessness for those around Lauren's family. For those of us who just want to help but don't know how. Who's hearts ache for Dana and her parents. Whose tears fall for Kal and Jude.

May it bring some warmth to our hearts to know that this financial support will go a long way in keeping this grieving family together during these unbelievably trying times. It's what Lauren would have wanted for her kiddos.

The fees raised will be applied to cover the following costs:

- Travel for Dana and Sheldon to be with Kal and Jude as much as possible

(Dana is taking an unpaid leave of absence from work during this time)

- Travel for Sharen and Tom to be with the kids in Ontario as much as possible

- Celebration of life arrangements for Lauren (planned for when Kallie is medically able to participate)

- Additional fees and expenses associated with the death of a loved one
