Help Coco Recover From a Terrible Accident

My name is Diamond, and I’m asking for help for our dog, Coco, after a tragic accident that has deeply shaken our family. Coco was born on May 11 and has been a loving, joyful part of our home since the day we brought her in. She’s playful, gentle, and truly a part of our family.

A few days ago, my 10-year-old daughter was outside playing with Coco and her friend right in front of our house. She didn’t realize how important it was to keep Coco on her leash at all times. In a split second — the kind of innocent mistake any child could make — Coco slipped free, and before anyone could react, she was struck by a passing car.

The accident happened right in front of us, and my daughter witnessed the entire thing. She has been traumatized ever since, replaying the moment over and over, asking if Coco will survive. Trying to comfort her while worrying about Coco’s condition has been extremely difficult for our family.

Coco’s injuries are severe:

• Two broken ribs

• A shattered and broken right hip

• A broken right shoulder

She’s currently in a lot of pain and unable to walk. The veterinarians have told us she needs extensive treatment, imaging, pain management, and likely surgery to repair the fractures in her hip and shoulder. The costs are overwhelming, and as much as I want to focus only on helping her heal, the financial reality is hitting hard.

We love Coco deeply, and we refuse to give up on her. We just need help to give her the medical care she deserves so she can have a chance to recover — not only for her sake, but for my daughter, who is heartbroken and blaming herself even though it was an accident no child could have predicted.
