In Memory of Stacy Gottwaldt
On Monday, August 15th, the world lost one of the most beautiful, loving souls ever created. Stacy was happy, quirky and playful. She was rarely seen without that infectious smile or her signature red lipstick. She was genuinely a joy to be around and a true friend to so, so many people.
Stacy spent much of her time doing for others. She literally had friends all over the world. Friends that she kept for 30 years. She loved children and dreamed of having her own. She found out she was pregnant and documented every second of it. In February, she was blessed with her daughter, Sage. She adored that baby girl and it was evident.
Stacy was open about her battle with depression. She fought for years. She dreamed of being content and feeling whole. After giving birth, her body turned on her and she struggled with postpartum depression. She continued to share stories of hope and dreams to be, she encouraged others to follow their hearts and never give up while fighting her own deep, evil demons.
Stacy lost her battle with depression after a helluva fight.
She is survived by a beautiful miracle of a “nugget”, Sage Itasca. Affectionately known as Sage-dot, cute loop, Sagie-Poo and I'm sure there were more, for whom all of these funds will go to. If we can show Sage even a fraction of the love that Stacy showed to the world...
Quoting a picture that she shared on her Facebook wall: “Just be yourself. Let people see the real, imperfect, flawed, quirky, weird, beautiful, magical person that you are.” … and she was.
She will be immensely missed and forever loved.
