Olivia is Sick of Floods

Donation protected
My cousin, Olivia Chenevert, and her beautiful little family have been hit by another flood. They lived in a ground floor apartment in Denham Springs, LA when the Amite River rose five feet over the last record crest (which was in 1983)  this past weekend.  The river basically took over and went wherever it wanted. More than two feet of water got into their apartment, destroying almost everything they owned, a lot of which was still packed in boxes from their recent move there. One of their two cars is totaled. The new elementary school where their two young sons were to start next week...flooded. Belongings in a storage unit were lost. They have to find temporary homes for their dogs. They had to sleep in an empty second floor apartment with another family just to stay dry.

The first time they were flooded was when Hurricane Gustav hit eight years ago. They lost almost everything then too.

The apartment complex managers have given them until Thursday August 18 to get all their belongings out, whatever is salvageable. They need money for clothes, shoes, security deposit on a new place, books, transportation, anything you can think of, they need it.
I'm also gathering donations of items and gift cards if you want to help that way. Just get in touch with me. The boys wear a size 8/medium clothes, size 1 shoes.

As you can see from the pictures, the water covered everything including the cars, the playground, and picnic tables in the parking lot.  The Coast Guard rescued several people.  You can see the water line of how high the water got in their apartment. Now imagine everything you own below that line getting completely soaked, rendered completely useless.

Thank you in advance for your help. It is much appreciated!

So many have lost so much.
This is suppose to be a highway exit.
The entire town seemed to be a swimming pool, but not one you want to jump into.
