I would like to introduce you to my grandson, Braedyn. We call him B. Braedyn is a very loving, thoughtful, generous and respectful young man. He just turned 10 on August 15th. He loves to play sports, baseball and football. He loves boating, tubing and kayaking. He has lots of family that loves him dearly... In April he was hit with a baseball 2 days in a row and in the same spot in his lower leg during baseball practice. From that hit his leg was swollen. He continued to play baseball with his team and never complained. In May, he had an X-ray. The Dr thought it was a stress fracture from getting hit. In July, B was sent for an MRI and a bone scan. After visiting an orthopedic doctor in Pittsburgh, and having a biopsy done, we received word on August 12th that B was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma. This is a rare form of bone cancer that only affects about 1% of the population a year and mostly boys.. B will be in chemo for at least 9 months. This doesn't include surgery to remove the tumor. This is going to be a struggle for my daughter and her family. She will be making numerous trips to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. That is over an hour drive. She will be staying with him while he is admitted to the hospital for 3 days one week. The following week will be as an outpatient. This will continue every week for 9 months or longer. Any money that is collected will be used for travel and expenses . My daughters insurance only pays 80% She will have to pay the remainder 20% out of pocket. The money will also be used towards any bills that occur. We as a family would greatly appreciate any help you can give, along with prayers. Thank you!
