On Sunday, August 14th Marci & Chad discoverd a egg sized lump in the area between the shoulder and bicep on their 11 year old son, Caleb. Like any parent they were concerned so they rushed Caleb to the emergency room. Within a couple days he had an ultrasound, MRI and CT-scan, plus additional testing of his blood. The lump was diagnosed as a tumor but fortunately after a full body scan no other tumors were found.
Tuesday, August 16th, they were finally going to be able to take Caleb home! Thinking the worst might be behind them they prepared for their appointment the next day where they would discuss a game plan on the remaining tumor. During that appointment they received the news they were hoping to never hear. They diagnosed Caleb with a cancerous tumor, but they won't be able to determine what type of cancer and if its treatable until after surgery. The doctor determined they will remove the mass as well as part of his bicep and shoulder muscle.
They have a long road ahead but with the love and support of family and friends we can get them through this very difficult time. Caleb turns 12 on August 18, so send him a birthday wish, thoughts, prayers and a donation of any amount. I'm a firm believer that every penny counts and I know they will be so grateful plusthis will eleviate some of the stress that they are feeling wondering how they will pay for medical bills and the lost wages from the time off work they both are taking to care for their family.
Thank you for taking the time to read their story and God Bless.
