Ten years after their second daughter was born, Jason and Angie Cremeans joyously celebrate the news that finally a son was on the way. As the pregnancy progressed, I watched them struggle with the news that this boy would be born with Down Syndrome, a compressed aorta, two holes in his heart and a floppy airway leading to his left lung. With pride, I watched acceptance and love wash over this couple. Our family was blessed with Cayden Michael's birth on April 1st. For the next four months this family has been living life on a crazy roller coaster ride. Cayden has been through one heart surgery and received a tracheotomy with a ventilator to stabilize his airway. During his second heart surgery to repair the holes in his heart something went wrong and the lower side of his heart will not function without the aid of a pacemaker. These proud parents could use some help covering some of the expenses involved with transportation, food, and lodging close to Iowa City, an hour and 1/2 from their home, as well as medical expenses not covered by insurance. Prayers for a speedy and healthy return home would be most welcome also.
