I am Catherine Landry Coon from Marrero, Louisiana and am writing on behalf of our dear friend, Maria Velasquez Brown, who has lost everything to the flooding in Louisiana over the past week. She needs money to help repair her flooded home.
Those of us who lived through Hurricane Katrina know what it's like to be displaced, to lose possessions, to face uncertainty as we try to rebuild our homes.
Now we want to do what we can to show our love to Maria during this difficult time. As her classmates, we have a great opportunity to reach out to Maria and help her, as I know she would help any one of us.
Let's do our best and say "We Love You, Maria!"
