Double stroke survivor Dave Emmert

Donation protected
David Emmert has survived two strokes in the past two years. The first left him permanently blind in his left eye, the second  has left him with partial vision in his right eye. The doctors have no answers as to were the clots are coming from. We are wanting him to get treated at Vanderbilt and are not able to pay for health care, travel and lodging. We have four precious children and he has not been qualified yet for disability benefits.

You never know what it's like to feel helpless until you're in a situation like this... And I can't even begin to relate to parents who have kids that are very sick or dying.

We want to learn from these two strokes and Vanderbilt Hospital is our next step. There is a lot doctors don't know about strokes and Dave has said he is willing to be a Guinea pig if it means they may find answers.

Having a hope that something good can come of our situation is where our focus is now. It would be awesome if we could help in furthering the knowledge of strokes and the brain.

Vanderbilt hospital, Located in Nashville TN, is 200miles from where we are in Knoxville. I don't see us taking all four kids and moving to Nashville so, there is going to be a lot of back and forth. Since Dave cannot work as a result of this last stroke and did not have health insurance at the time of the second stroke we are asking for support with medical bills and basic needs like diapers, food and gas.
