Colleagues In Louisiana Victimized By Historic Flood

The historic flooding in South Louisiana has greatly impacted the employees of the Geismar, Louisiana branch of the ALL Family.

NEARLY EVERY EMPLOYEE HAS SUFFERED CATASTROPHIC LOSS & DAMAGE TO PROPERTY AND HOMES.

According to the news, the situation is not over. Water continues to rise and some parishes remain completely inaccessible by road.

Tim Howard and I traveled to Louisiana to offer our assistance and see first-hand. We went as far as we could, watching boats launch from the middle of the roads.

The devastation is more than I could have imagined, with water levels reminiscent of Hurricane Katrina. Families have been displaced, staying with friends, at hotels, or in shelters.

There are several employees who we have still been unable to contact. For those I was able to meet with, there was no hiding their concern, stress, fear, and uncertainty. Most of their households include families with small children or grandchildren. It is truly heartbreaking.

For many, the extent of the water damage remains unknown. Rescued by boat, or still stranded within their community, they must wait until the water recedes to assess the destruction. But that is just the beginning. They will face weeks of clean up, removing not only the water, but the dirt, debris,  mold, and insects.

The following is a growing list of employees with damaging water in their homes.

Travis Arnott (Assistant Service Manager), his wife Michelle, and their son Jonathon Crosby (also an employee), suffered the greatest loss. Their entire house, including all of its contents, was completely destroyed. It remains submerged under water, with only the rooftop visible above the waterline.

Although the flooding has claimed the lives of 11 thus far, the ALL Family in Louisiana remains fortunate in that has not suffered any loss of life. But the lives of its employees and their families will be forever changed.

As the waters continue to rise, so do the monetary costs to rebuild, and the need for food, drinking water, and supplies. A list of household goods and clothing sizes will be added as needs become more apparent.  Let’s show our colleagues what being a member of the ALL Family really means!

Please check back as I intend to post updates about our friends at ALL Crane in Louisiana.
