The Problem:
Hunger is a reality in Missouri. There are families in every county of our state and the city of St. Louis that don't know with certainty that everyone in their household will get adequate food today.
Food insecure households in Missouri are more likely to be malnourished, subsisting on diets low in vitamins, minerals, fruits, vegetables, grains and meat.
This undesirable diet can increase risk for chronic health conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity. It may also lead to poor educational outcomes for Missouri kids and decreased productivity for the workforce in our state.
The Solution:
Feeding Missouri commits to purchasing over one million pounds of fresh produce which will be distributed to Missouri families in need.
This produce will help low-income families achieve the good nutrition that is so important, particularly for children, to maintain good physical and mental health, academic achievement, and economic productivity.

Feeding Missouri can leverage donated dollars to acquire bulk quantities of produce at the most affordable prices.
In other words, the same $10 you could use to buy food at retail could buy 20 times more food at wholesale prices. It would be the difference between providing a lunch for a few people and feeding an entire family for a week.
Since 100% of donated funds will go towards the purchase and distrubution of fresh produce, Produce Promise's total impact it limitless. More dollars mean even more healthy fruits and vegetables for Missouri families in need.
