Roger Cottew's Legacy Fund
Donation protected
Roger Cottew was unexpectedly diagnosed with a version of cancer called non-smokers lung cancer this summer. Roger has never smoked in his life but this form of cancer has developed in his lung’s and has now passed to his liver, spinal chord and brain.
Roger is an excellent husband, father, and friend and has devoted a large amount of his adult life to coaching youth soccer players in his community. He is someone who seeks to understand and teaches back to those around him including his 3 daughters (Sidney 21, Morgan 19 and Taylor 17) whom he has coached along with others. He developed his coaching techniques by observing top players and coaches from around the world to teach his players the love of the game of soccer. His passion and commitment to knowledge has shown through his daughters and over many portions of his life. Even now Roger has taught himself about cancer and teaches others about his disease.
As you can imagine, the diagnosis, treatments and ongoing process that Roger has endured and will continue to face are both overwhelming and intimidating. The road ahead for him and his family is going to be long and they need to know that we all support them. If good hearted people like you contribute to his effort, they will be encouraged to know that people care about Roger, Keela (wife) and their family. This effort not only supports Roger and his family financially but let’s them know how much love that you have for them.
This fund raising campaign is set up to directly support the Cottew family's current and ongoing medical expenses they must endure. Other major cost also include that they are in the process of putting 3 children through college. Roger is in the group of 1 in 14 people that are diagnosed with lung cancer, sadly most cases diagnosed are already in stage 3 or 4 with only a 17% survival rate. Please know that small donations are just as meaningful as large donations and the Cottew family is very grateful for anything you are able to contribute.
