Louisiana Flood Relief Effort
Due to the devastating flooding in Kelly's hometown of Denham Springs, Louisiana, many of our family and friends have been directly impacted and displaced. Kelly and I are raising money to buy more cleaning supplies, non-perishable food and drinking water, and basic clothing items. Rich and poor have been impacted and we hope to bring relief to as many folks as possible.
We have collected over 2 minivans worth of donations from gracious friends, family, and church members from Harrison United Methodist Church, and we expect more by Thursday, 18-Aug. We are heading down to Livingston Parish on Friday. We are incurring personal costs for fuel and food to deliver the aid to those affected in the area. With your donations we will defray some of those costs and buy more of whatever is needed with the funds collected.
Flooding is as damaging as a house fire. Can you imagine having lost all that is under 4 feet of muddy river water? Where you will live and how you afford to clothe and feed yourself and your family? These are the problems 90% of the population are dealing with.
We are immensely grateful for everyone's gracious donations. The outpouring of support is overwhelming and inspiring. We are all God's hands and feet on earth, and it's amazing what we can achieve together. God bless all of you. Please keep praying for all those affected.
Love,
Kelly and Ivan Regueira
