Oxford House Disaster Relief

Oxford Houses are self run and self financed recovery homes for men and women who want to be positive members of society. We currently have over 2200 homes throughout the world and continue to grow to suit the need for everyone in all communities everywhere. In the last couple of days, our houses in Baton Rouge Louisiana have suffered a devastating storm along with extreme flooding and power outages. Our residents in 7 Oxford Houses have been displaced until the homes can be repaired, appliances and furnishings can be replaced, and utilities such as electricity and water are reinstalled. Life has changed towards uncertainty for our residents, our landlords, and our neighbors. Together we will rebuild and have begun the process. Our residents come together, roll our sleeves up, and get to work when needed. We do this often, but this storm was exceptionally devastating and we ask for help. Our jobs are flooded as well and many residents will need to seek new employment along with trying to rebuild their homes. Any and all help would be enthusiastically appreciated to help us. We thank all and everyone who has helped. Our houses and neighborhoods will again be 100 percent, and our goal is to rebuild as soon as possible and to open even more homes for those in need. 1I am an outreach coordinator for Oxford House Inc
2. I was a previous Outreach worker in Louisiana for 13 years and am extremely familiar with not only the houses that were flooded but with the local residents as well.
3. The funds will be used to help replace destroyed furnishings, pay outstanding utility bills, and to help with rent on the houses once they are remodeled. 
4 The funds will be pulled out  by Lori Holtzclaw and deposited into a regional Oxford House account asap.
