In March of 2016 our father, Gregory James Larson, was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer. Throughout his battle with this terrible and unforgiving illness, he was brave, honest and remained kindhearted and compassionate. Although his struggle was one no person should ever have to endure, he always carried with him a positive disposition and held his head high. While he would occasionally, but understandably, get cranky, he would never leave you without a hug and a smile. Sadly, his fight ended on Sunday, August 7th, 2016. He was 61 years old. He has rejoined both of his parents and many others up in the Promised Land where he undoubtedly is enjoying a cigar, a Sam Adams and listening to Jimmy Buffett. With his time on Earth, Greg was a jack of many trades. He served in the United States Navy, worked as a BNSF Railroad Engineer, State of Arizona Railroad Inspector, dabbled in real estate and drove freight trucks for Knight Transportation and for Arizona Pacific Pulp and Paper. Additionally, he was an avid Arizona Cardinals fanatic and loved cooking and more specifically cooking for others. He would invite you into his home, stuff you with the best food, offer you a cold beer and would banter with you for hours on end. Although he is gone, he will not be forgotten. He was a loving husband to his soulmate Sandi Potter, father of four sons, Andrew, Patrick, Steven & Joseph, Grandfather to two, Gabrielle and Gabriel Larson and was a brother to Marilyn Craig, Dwight Larson, and Cathy Schumacher.
What was already a tragic struggle for the last six months is compounded by the financial burden of not having life insurance, which has left us with mounting medical and funeral costs. Any and all support, not just monetary, is welcomed and much appreciated.
