As many of you know our dog Chief was hit by a car. He has a broken femur, torn diaphragm, and a broken tooth that needs to be extracted. The break in his femur is pretty severe and requires an orthopedic specialist to repair it. That will cost $4000- $6000 when everything is said and done, but they can only do the surgery in Tallahassee or in Dothan. Unfortunately with a baby on the way, and the $1000 we have already spent to splint his leg and keep him comfortable until he can even see a surgeon, that option is just not feasible. Option two is to amputate, and option three is to put him down. For us option three isn't even an option, so we have made the decision to amputate his leg. His surgery is still going to cost another $1000-$1100. This fundraiser is set up in hopes to raise as much money as possible to help pay for his vet bills. We realize that $2000 is a huge amount and we do not expect to reach that goal, but anything to get us close to that number would truly be a blessing. My biggest fear is being in a ton of debt right before "season" ends in our small town and our baby girl is born. Many of you know how hard winters can be up here and with the unexpected hit to our wallet our stress level is through the roof.
