Two amazing people that are special to me need our help! Trent and Mackenzie are family - they have helped countless others during the floods in the South this week.
As many of you know, Louisiana was hit with record rainfall this last week causing historic flooding. One of the heroic rescuers is Lt. Trent Thibodeaux who is a firefighter/EMT with the East Baton Rouge Parish. Because Trent was already out doing search and rescue, his wife, Mackenzie was home alone when a flash flood occurred and she woke up to more than 3 feet of water in their home. She managed to escape after saving the hunter/retriever dogs that Trent trains—5 labs---and getting them to safety. It’s a blessing that Trent had trained the dogs to swim because they had to swim for their lives.
Trent has worked continually throughout the disaster, only returning briefly in an attempt to salvage what he could. They do not have any insurance to cover the replacement of all of their possessions. In addition to not having insurance to cover their countless lost belongings, they’ll also have to figure out how to compensate for lost income. Trent works two other jobs in addition to his primary profession and Mackenzie, because of the disastrous state of the roads, has not been able to return to work.
Trent and Mackenzie will be celebrating their first wedding anniversary in September and unfortunately the flood caused them to lose many of the wedding gifts they received. They are so grateful for the outpouring of love and concern for them, and if you are so able, any financial contribution to rebuilding their life would be humbly appreciated. Thank you!
