Thomas (Tommy) Oeun; Son, brother, uncle, friend and STAGE 2 GLIOBLASTOMA fighter.
Tommy is 25 years old and has a passion for the outdoors, hiking and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoys cooking and is known as the family's rock. Tommy studied hard, went to college, stayed away from trouble and made his parents proud but for the past year, Tommy has been battling STAGE 2 Glioblastoma multiforme located in right rear occipital lobe.
Tommy would get headaches monthly, then weekly, then the headaches turned to daily. He knew something was wrong but was afraid, he feared the worst. It wasn't until he suffered a stroke alone in his car, was when he knew... he had to know what was wrong with him.
GLIOBLASTOMA is known as an aggressive brain cancer with a high mortality rate with only 1 of 4 patients surviving more then 5 years.
He have tried clinical trials form Duke University with failures of any shrinkage of the tumor.
Tommy is currently undergoing chemotherapy "Avastin" and radiation weekly while taking clinical trials at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
With chemo and radiation, Tommy sometimes struggles with just getting out of bed. He can't even count the numerous times he had to throw-up in trashcans or toilets. The weakness he felt in his arms or the tremblings in his legs. Without the drugs, he was given 14 months and with them it could be 5 years. Because the drugs and treatments are clinical and not approved by the FDA, insurance will not cover the treatments he needs.
Any donation amount will be greatly appreciated. The funds collected will go towards his medical bills and provide the peace of mind that he can just concentrate on getting better.
I cannot think of a better investment than human life and the promise of a tomorrow.
