Saltaformaggio Family Flood Relief

Dear Friends:
So many of you have reached out from across the country and the world asking of how you can help my family, friends, and community in the aftermath of the tragic 2016 flood in Louisiana. First and foremost, we ask for prayers for all affected as they face a truly long and strenuous journey to recovery. This didn't affect just my family, but an entire community of people. They are hurting and need as much help as they can get.
To put things in perspective, parts of Louisiana received more than 30 inches of rain in less than 72 hours -- thats more water than Los Angeles has seen in more than four years. Nearly 90% of the city of Denham Springs was underwater and that was just our city. People had no forewarning, and many left with out being able to salvage anything but the clothes on their backs. To add to the devastation, many did not have flood insurance because these were considered no flood zones. This was truly Mother Nature in full force and she showed no mercy.
My parents home of 21 years, the place where all my childhood and young adult memories are, was taken over by the waters like so many of those who are so near and dear to our hearts.
I am creating this page as an outlet of support and a channel for friends outside of Louisiana who have so generously offered to help. These funds will assist in providing immediate essentials for food, clothing, as well as rebuilding efforts.
If you can, join me in showing love and compassion from Coast to Coast to those who need it the most. From one L.A. to the other, there is no amount to big or to small.
Thank you in advance for your continued prayers and support.
With much love and gratitude,
Olivia Habibi

Who am I: My name is Olivia Saltaformaggio Habibi. I was raised and spent most of my life in Louisiana and am a proud almuni of Louisiana State University. Although I relocated to Los Angeles in 2010, in my heart Louisiana will always be my home. I am so overwhelmed by the amount of support from my friends in California and across the country who know my love for Louisiana, and have offered to help.
Who/What You're Raising Money for: I am raising money for my family, friends, and the community for which I love so dear and see hurting trememdously. I am hoping any amount can provide some relief and a step in the right direction toward restoration.
How will the money be used: Funds will be used to provide needed essentials to my family and fellow residents in an effort to aid in the rebuilding process.
