Kathy Sussman's Welcome Home Garden
Donation protected
Hi! I'm Kathy Sussman's son, Drew Daniel. My mom is going to come home soon from the rehabilitation facility in Vallejo where she is recovering from a heart attack and stroke that changed her mobility. She's got a brand new drive way that lets her get unloaded safely from the car into her wheelchair. The problem right now: on either side of that driveway is just big piles of dirt. Mom loves flowers and native plants, and it would be a great way to welcome her back to her home as she recovers from stroke if you folks out there could contribute to help me purchase the plants, rocks, soil, mulch, and wire (to keep out gophers) so that we can plant things around around her house and make it look, well, pretty and welcoming rather than barren and bleak. I pledge to make up the difference to hit the goal and our trusty gardening pals are pitching in their labor, but if any of you might throw us some change here or there, it would really help us out. In return, we'll put a little sign up for each donor so the names are there for her to see when she gets out of the hospital. Life after a stroke is hard and depression and isolation is a risk, so feeling connected to others right now couldn't hurt. This would mean a lot to my Mom, who is facing big challenges as she recovers from her stroke. Sometimes the little green things mean a lot. Thanks for reading, and please consider pitching in!
