I'm, Alice Robin from Lafayette, La. , and I am telling the story of two families that I am related to via my father, Howard Comeaux. They are the Mire family (Aunt Priscilla and Uncle Ray) and the Poston family (Cousin Carrie, David, Sarah and Ryan). They live in Baton Rouge, La. and Denham Springs,La. They thought that this past Friday would just be another Louisiana rainy day. But, as we all know, it wasn't. My aunt and uncle were forced to leave their home (located on Nancy Drive in Baton Rouge, La.) because it was predicted that the water would rise when the Amite River overflowed. This came to pass and she had 4 feet of water in her home. She does not have insurance to cover the damage. My cousin, Carrie, and her family were greatly affected by the same flood. They were forced to leave their home with their two small children not once but twice. They are now living in a hotel in Baton Rouge,La. They have flood insurance but the damage is extensive. The photos you will see are photos of my cousin's neighborhood and my cousin's house. The money that is donated will help to fund both families and their recovery efforts. I have left it up to them to decide how they will share the money and what they spend it on. Any donation would help them as they try to recover from this devastating natural disaster.
