Wes and Eileen's medical fund
Donation protected
Earlier this year we moved to Oregon to help with Eileen's COPD. Upon arrival, Wes found a diabetic ulcer on his right foot that required the amputation of his big toe. Only a month later, Wes was back in the hospital for the removal of more bone from his right foot. A third operation was the amputation of two more toes on the same foot. I had just begun to recover from that when Eileen was found to have a cancerous mass in her abdomen. The surgeon removed that along with 2+ feet of her colon. The mass was about the size of a large orange and was tested out as being cancerous. Eileen is still slowly healing from that operation. Two weeks ago I entered the emergency room at the Coos Bay hospital where I was diagnosed with having three stomach ulcers. A week later, pain in my right side led to my current diagnosis of inoperable liver cancer. I will begin chemotherapy and radiation treatments soon. Eileen and I live on our Social Security with Medicare being our only insurance. We already have over $15000 in hospital and Dr. bills. The cancer treatment will run that over $30000 after Medicare pays their portion. Drug costs will be astronomical. In addition, neither of us can drive now and we need to get back to Iowa to be near children (4), grand children (12) and great grandchildren (7). Please help all that you can as soon as you can and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
