Hearing Aids for Joe Bernardo

My father has been dealing with hearing loss for the past year and a half or so. We thought he just liked to listen to his music and television extremely loud to drive us crazy.... Until he told us he was consistently hearing a buzzing noise in his ears. He describes it like hearing a fan blowing in your ears 24/7. It drowns out a lot of other sounds and drives him crazy. Could you imagine hearing a buzzing all the time?! The doctor said that when you lose a certain range or frequency, your brain tries to "fill the space" with noise. On top of that, we notice he has been hearing what we say to him less and less, and he has to watch your lips move when you speak. 

Finally we convinced him to go to a doctor to see about hearing aids. He has significant hearing loss in both ears. The doctor had him try on sample hearing aids, and his face lit up like Christmas morning. He could hear us, he spoke more softly, he could even hear me shuffling papers in my hands! The smile on his face said it all. He looked refreshed and amazed!

Then came the difficult part. His insurance from Monroe Woodbury HS does not cover ANYTHING for hearing aids. I couldn't believe it. So we figured okay we will pay out of pocket, because it's worth the money to increase his quality of life. The prices floored me! With all of our bills, we just can't afford his hearing aids. It doesn't seem fair to me that such a hard working, wonderful man should be deprived of his hearing. This is why I have turned to go fund me for your help! Any little bit will help us and get us closer to his hearing aids. Thank you for anything you are able to help with! 

Help me make life better for my father. He is the sweetest, most hard working man I have ever met. He joys himself on brightening the days of all the people he encounters. Help me brighten his days as well!
