Everybody in Atlanta knows and loves Bubba. He has made you laugh, scream, act michevious, take dares, forget your troubles and live like nothing but fun mattered. Everybody has a different Bubba adventure and the one thing these legendary tales all have in common is that you wake up the next morning exclaiming "Bubba Fleenor knows how to have a damn good time! That was an awesome night!" And when you try to describe Bubba to the few that walk the planet that haven't met him, you will inevitably say "Bubba would give you the shirt off his back." OK, so the shirt either has KISS or something offensive on it but he will still strip down where he stands and give it to you. Well, now Bubba needs our help.
Over the weekend Bubba fell from a ladder while trimming hedges at his house. (Yeah, I know, sounds boring and you would have expected something a little more exciting out of Bub) He fractured his leg in three places and is currently awaiting additional diagnostics to determine if he will need surgical intervention. He is stuck in bed with a full leg cast and it will be 6-8 weeks before he can possibly consider going back to work. Of course, that is the best case scenario, if he doesn't end up needing surgery.
In addition to paying all of his medical bills out of pocket (he has no health insurance) he will have no income for the next couple of months. Bubba is a waiter/server at Pea Ridge and there is no possible way he can work until his leg is healed. He can't bear full weight on it anytime soon and can't ride his bike in a full leg cast (his only means of transportation). While the orthopedic will likely work out a payment plan with Bubba they have requested a large sum upfront that will destroy his savings.
I know times are tight for everyone but if you have a little extra to help Bubba out right now I know he would be filled with gratitude. Even $10 or $20 would help with medical bills. I can't imagine Bubba likes the idea of friends pitching in to help with his bills because he is a hard working proud sort of guy but this is one of those times when we just have to pull together and do what he would gladly do for us.
