Rebecca Brown's Medical Fund

Rebecca Brown is a rock; a kind, generous, beautiful, funny and utterly reliable rock. On a Thursday night in February 2016, Rebecca almost died. She and her daughter, Sydney, were home alone - Sydney heard a crash and ran into the kitchen to find her mom lying unconscious on the floor. In a panic, she called her dad who told her to call 911.


Rebecca was rushed to the hospital and immediately put in the Intensive Care Unit where she received multiple sessions of dialysis. After a series of tests, she was diagnosed with complete kidney failure. Her husband hopes to donate one of his kidneys to her; they're still waiting to find out if it’s a compatible match. In the interim, she receives dialysis 3 times a week. The size of Rebecca’s veins has caused complications and she has had to have 7 surgeries in order to allow for ongoing dialysis. Unfortunately, she still needs more.

Rebecca’s insurance coverage was pretty awful and the medical bills have been exorbitant. She already owes close to $100,000 for the surgeries and hospital stay. In order to pay for the ongoing dialysis, she and her husband were forced to take out a loan. The money she’s borrowing does NOT help pay for her previous medical debt. She tried to apply for Medicaid but would only be eligible if she were to quit working which she refuses to do. Those who know Rebecca aren’t the least bit surprised by this. She wants to continue living as normal a life as possible but the debt is causing immense stress which isn’t good for her ongoing health. Rebecca is an incredible friend, mom, wife and a rock to so many that know her. She is one of those people that is always there to help others but would never ask for help herself.
