My name is Stephanie Silva and I am here to raise money for my family who has just lost everything in the devastating Clayton fire. My grandmother, Mary Schultz, has lived in her home in Lowerlake for nearly 20 years with over 70 years worth of personal belongings. My mom, Traci Silva and little sister, Molly Silva have lived there for the last 10 years. They were forced to evactuate with little to nothing. After a day of uncertainty, they were given the confirmation from a friend that their home and everything in it was gone. 


All that remains is their mailbox and a blue flower pot in what used to be their front yard. The entire neighborhood has been flattened to nothing except ash. A local firefighter who was battling the flames stated, "I have never seen a fire so destructive".
 
The loss our family is experiencing is still surreal. Not only their home and material belongings, but an endless amount of keepsakes and family photos were destroyed. We are thankful that everyone is safe, but it is so hard to even comprehend all the little things that were lost. 


We will never be able to replace what is now gone, but with the help and support of others we hope to slowly rebuild their lives. Having that favorite blanket, shirt, or pair of earrings is something my family will have to live without, for now. Sitting in the comfort of your own home is something we will never take for granted again. We have all lost something special to us, but my Grandma, the most selfless person I know, bares the biggest burden of us all. Having to start your life over at the age of 71 is something no one should ever have to go through. So please, if there is anything you can spare, we will gratefully accect all donations large or small, because right now it is the little things that count.
