Hi, I am Diana, Steve's soon to be sister-in-law. I am here asking you to please help Steve and Karen as they begin yet another chapter in their lives.
As most of you know, Steve has been battling several medical conditions for some time. Prostate cancer, diabetes, gastroparesis, COPD, very limited use of his left arm due to an injury and arthritis to name a few.
Recently Steve has been diagnoised with an agressive form of squamous cell carcinoma of the larnyx that is inoperable.
Steve has used up all of his disabilty and has been denied social security disability benefits. Though he has hired an attorney to fight the denial, he currently has no income.
His fiance', Karen is able to meet their basic needs but their financial needs will soon overwhelm them. Steve will have to travel 100 miles every day to town and back, beginning this week for radiation and chemo-therapy. Once Steve becomes to ill to travel or stay home by himself, Karen will have to cut back on her work which means no income and this will affect them enormously. They will need financial help to keep up with things such as gasoline to travel back and forth for the next 13 weeks and basic living expenses. (housing, bills and food, etc.).
This will touch our hearts in a way that you may find it difficult to imagine if you have not had to go through this process. If you have, you know, every little bit helps. I ask that in addition to donations that you say a little prayer for Steve as we will be praying for you and your family and all the blessings you have bestowed upon us.
