These Children Need our Help!!!
Donation protected
It was my privilege to visit the Good Samaritan Primary School in Kiwangala, Uganda. The school has approximately 1,200 students; over 300 of which live in the school dormitories, and many are orphans. It broke my heart to learn that the school has no running water, forcing these children to carry Geri cans 300 feet downhill to fill from a well; then carry the heavy cans of water back uphill just to use for drinking, cooking, bathing and laundry. Running water is something we take for granted here in the USA!
The school does have a holding tank for the well water; but no means to pump the water from their well, to the holding tank. The school is in need of 4 submersible pumps to provide water for the children. Luckily for these children, I have been working for a pump manufacturer for over 25 years, so I know a little something about pumps!! I have partnered with Folsom Associates in Utah, to specify the pumps needed, and the good news is the pumps have just been approved by the engineering team in Uganda!
I am raising funds to purchase the pumps, freight charges to Uganda, supplies and labor to install.
My goal is to raise the money by mid-Septemeber 2016, in an effort to have running water installed prior to the start of the Uganda "summer". My employer, Tuthill Corporation, is willing to match the funds that I raise (up to $2,500), so I’m shooting for the stars!! So far, I have earned $500 towards the cost from a yard sale where all proceeds were marked for Uganda.
Please help me raise the rest of the funds needed to provide water to these precious children! Even a donation of just $10.00 will go along ways to help me reach my goal.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your support.
