Liam Poirier is a great guy who works hard to help his family and others with special needs. He treats everyone with respect. He takes care of his father, helps his mother, and watches out for his 3 younger siblings.
Liam was going over to his fathers house to prepare him for an upcoming snow storm. He cooked food for him, cleaned and made sure his dad was all set. The snow had already started to fall by the time Liam was done. He and his bulldog, Duchess, were ready to go home and wait out the storm. Liam didn't even make it fully onto the road before he was slammed by a truck. He was rushed by ambulance to the emergency room where they found that he had 9 broken ribs, a lacerated spleen, 2 punctured lungs, a damaged pelvis and an injured femur. Duchess recieved significant injuries, too. She had nerve damage and internal injures. She has needed several vet visits to regain her health.
The money donated will be used to pay for Liam's medical bills and to help him recooperate from the nearly fatal crash. The money is needed sooner than later, because the bills are piling up. He is doing a little better now, but he can't get well until he has fully rested, and money is tough to find for Liam right now, especially since he has been out of work since the crash.
Liam is my big brother who I love so very much. He has been there for me all my life and has been a huge role model for myself, my brother and little sister. I'm really happy my brother is still with us, as this crash easily could have taken his life and left me without him in mine. But now, I need help from everyone to make sure that Liam is taken care of. Liam has helped others for all his life and now he needs help to get back on his feet.
