Lucas's Medical Expenses
The first thing a person notices about Lucas is his infectious smile. Get to know him a little deeper, and you'd learn that his smile radiates from his huge heart. Lucas lived his life in the most zen way possible, aiming to bring peace to himself and those around him. Lucas overcame many obstacles in his life and with each new hurdle, learned great lessons. He became a mentor to friends and a teacher to his family. He always looked for the positive in a negative situation, something most people have trouble doing. This year, Lucas was diagnosed with testicular cancer and faced this fact like he did all difficult situations; he was determined to rise above it. He never complained during his chemo. He stayed strong and patiently waited to become a cancer survivor. During his last week of treatment, Lucas began having difficulty breathing. It quickly progressed into Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and he needed to be placed on a ventilator. In addition to the ventilator, Lucas was put on an ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) machine to do the work of his lungs. We are not sure yet where this journey will take our sweet Lucas but we are trying to handle it like he did everything, with love and positivity. I created this site to help our dad, Glenn Sniderman, in this very difficult time, so he has one less thing to worry about. Thank you for your help!
