Leo Needs Bladder Surgery!

My dear friend, neighbor, and chosen sister Beatriz Ibarra is one of the kindest & most compassionate people I've ever been blessed to know. Bea is many things to many people: a beloved tia, a dedicated sister, a conscientious daughter, a cancer survivor, an irreplacable pediatric nurse, a passionate animal lover, a knowledgeable sci-fi geek & anime maniac, and an engaged member of our community.
If you were to ask anyone about Bea, however, the very first word that will come to mind is LEO. Bea and her 13 year old Schnauzer Leo are an inseparable team. Leo is Bea's support system, companion, best friend, beloved child and partner in adventures of all kind.
And now Bea and Leo need OUR help! Leo has recently been diagnosed with recurrent bladder stones that will require surgery immediately. These stones have been the cause of many costly trips to the vet over the last year. While trying to figure out what was causing her beloved Leo's illnesses & seeming decline, Bea has bankrupted her savings and put her own health in jeopardy to pay for Leo's care.
Dr. Manley May at Pearland Pet Health Center, who Bea trusts with Leo's care, has determined that Leo needs bladder surgery immediately to remove the bladder stones due to their size, pain, and recurrent infections. Due to Leo's age, the surgery will need special monitoring and advanced aftercare treatment. With surgical intervention, however, Dr. May believes that Leo has a long and healthy life ahead of him.
Funds will be used to cover the surgical costs and aftercare treatments as estimated by Pearland Pet Health Center. Any funds raised in excess of Leo's veterinary bills will be donated to the Houston SPCA.
I love Bea as do all her family, friends, patients, neighbors, and community. Bea's always there when we need her with wise advice, a hearty laugh, a strong shoulder to cry on, and common sense. Bea needs our help for Leo & she's too proud to ask for it.
This fundraising campaign is our chance to support Bea and demonstrate to her how much she is loved, valued, and essential in our world. Bea is desperate to have Leo healthy again and our small contributions will enable that.
