This is baby Gabrielle. She is 1 year old and the daughter of an officer at the Chino Valley Police Department. In the evening hours of August 11th, 2016, as her daddy was returning home from work, she became very lethargic, and had severly bloody diapers. Stephen Farmer and his wife Stephanie rushed Gabrielle to the hospital and learned that her intestines and stomach had inverted causing her severe pain. Although there was a large storm in the Yavapai County area, the hospital staff made the determination that she needed to be rushed to the Phoenix Childrens Hospital for emergency surgery by helicoptor. When Gabrielle arrived, doctors performed surgery on her and 1 year old Gabrielle lost 4 percent of her small intestine and 60 percent of her colon. Although Stephen, Stephanie and their extended family at the Chino Valley Police Department are extremely relieved and thankful that this issue was caught early on and Gabrielle's life was saved, the medical bills have become mountainous. We at the Chino Valley Police Department have started this GOFUNDME account on behalf of Gabrielle, Stephen and Stepanie to help them take care of the medical bills that they are now faced with. Although Officer Farmer and his family do have medical insurance, the portion that it covers is minimal. Officer Stephen Farmer has served the community of Chino Valley dilligently for the last two years and gives selflessly to everyone he meets in the community. We are taking the time to try and give back to this selfless servant and his family in their time of need. We are greatful simply for well wishes for his family but ask that if you are able to help with his family's unexpected medical bills, you would do so in whatever way possible, as well as share this with anyone and everyone you know. Help us to help this family who gives to their community so much on a continuous basis.
